Rejected petition Change the NMW for 25 plus on apprenticeships, to the NLW to stop exploitation.

I am currently on an apprenticeship. I am on £6.35ph was told this would be for the initial 1-12 weeks, then we would be on the NLW, now feeling exploited to cover staff shortages, used and taken advantage of as cheap labour. This is happening all the time with big companies.

I have confronted the company I work for.
Because the law states they could of started us on £3.70ph the minimum apprenticeship wage for persons over 19, I should be grateful, I work 60 hours per week and I took this in hope to be on a little more after the initial 12 weeks.
Them knowing we have no rights and the law on the side of the companies that do this. Being over 25 are not entitled to the national living wage till after the first 12 month of an apprenticeship and companies exploit this.
