Petition A bill to Clarify the terms of a Scottish independence referendum

We the undersigned acknowledge and note the UK government`s acceptance of the right of the Scottish government to ask the Scottish people if they desire independence.

We the undersigned urge the UK government, via its legitimate authority in areas affecting the Union,to legislate to require absolute clarity, and establish criteria, for any question on independence.

The UK government should take as its example, the `Clarity clause` enacted in Canada in regards to the status of Quebec.

Chief amongst this criteria for clarity should be the requirement for any referendum to be straight forward, unambiguous, with one straight forward question-a close variant of "Should Scotland be independent", with the answers being only "yes" and "no".
