HM Government is currently spending more than it receives in tax receipts. It has embarked on an ambitious plan to reduce spending to balance the books. But every year many BILLIONS of tax are not paid due to avoidance by companies and wealthy individuals. The Government should substantially increase funding to HMRC to enable it to tackle tax avoidance and make sure everyone pays the tax that is due.
