Petition Test for Category D Should entitle license holder to drive Class 2 ( Vice versa)

I strongly believe (Along with many HGV ancoach drivers) that if you pass the driving test for buses (Category D) this should then entitle the license holder to drive any vehicle up to 7500 kg.

On a category D licences you can drive an 18000kg Tri Axle coach but not a 7500kg truck. Although the coach may be longer and taller. This doesn’t make any sense. I also believe that with Category D on your license, you should be able to tow any trailer on your car when over the age of 25.
