Rejected petition Make seaweed a part of livestock diet (sheep and cows).
Livestock emissions account for 15% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions, and methane is considered to be up to 30 times more harmful than carbon dioxide. Feeding cows seaweed can battle climate change, that by adding seaweed to livestock diet can reduce methane emission from 70% to 99%.

This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
This would be a decision for livestock owners, not the UK Parliament or Government.
You could start a new petition about something the UK Parliament and Government are responsible for. For example, you could start a new petition asking the UK Parliament and Government to subsidise seaweed-based livestock food, if that's something you'd like to happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
