Rejected petition To urge a petition officer to open a recall petition for MP Christopher Chope
Chris Chope MP today 8.2.18 blocked legislation to protect women and girls for genital mutilation.
Not only is this abhorrent in itself, may promote violence against women.
This is not someone who should be representing our country in parliament.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can't accept your petition because this wouldn't be the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
In any case, under the Recall of MPs Act 2015 a recall petition can only be opened if an MP is sentenced to a prison term, is suspended from the House of Commons for at least 10 sitting days or is convicted of providing false information under the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
