Rejected petition Licence fee payers to be able to choose preferred public service broadcaster
The BBC has in recent years declined in impartiality, and in particular since the 2016 referendum campaign.
More details
Many see its attempts at 'balance' as less than impartial, as they allowed opponents of the EU to naysay arguments without presenting counter facts. While many people support public service broadcasting as an alternative to narrow private interests, some element of competition between public broadcasters could restore the reputation of institutions like the BBC and force them to perform their duty of impartiality
