As someone with Cystic Fibrosis, I have first hand experience with how isolating, demoralizing and ultimately frightening it is to understand the path of this disease. With short life expectancy, isolated communities and no immediate solution to reduce these facts; Orkambi funding is crucial.

The current fee of one year of Orkambi treatment is $272,000 (£210,669) with little chance of anyone in the UK being able to afford this with the average annual salary being roughly £27,600 it seems paramount that the NHS and Vertex come to an agreement that allows the drug to be fully covered and accessible to the Cystic Fibrosis public.
