Rejected petition MP who resigns from a party must legally be required to stand in a By-Election

Labour and Conservative MPs have resigned from their parties to form an Independent Group. It should be a legal requirement for politicians who have been elected to their office as a member of a political party to be re-elected in a By-Election in either their new party or as an Independent.
