Closed Protect landlords financially against bad tenants

If a tenant leaves a rented property with rent arrears, court fees and bailiff fees this leaves the landlord with big debts to cover. Landlords should not be used as a bank. The Government should pay the debts and reclaim the cost from the tenants – effectively a loan.

An example of this is when my tenant left my property months after a section 8 notice. They owed over £4,800 but only had to pay £10 per month leaving me to cover the rest of the costs. I'm no millionaire just a landlord who got stitched up by a tenant.
