Petition Child benefit changes should be based on household income

Make the proposed changes to Child Benefit based on household income, not whether one or more people earn over basic rate.

The proposal suggests that if one person in the family earns over the basic rate then the benefit stops.

However, a family could have two people earning the top level of basic rate, and their family would still receive the benefit - despite their income being potentially double that of the household with the higher tax payer.

This is unfair. It should be based on HOUSEHOLD INCOME.
