Rejected petition Scrap the IPSA and let the public decide whether MP's get a pay rise.
MP's are servants of the people so I believe the people, essentially their 'employer', should decide level at which MP's pay should increase.
More details
Since 2010 MP's (and including the current planned 2.7% increase) will have received over £13,000 in pay increases whereas the likes of our teachers and nurses, police and firemen and women are worse off in real terms.
This should not be allowed to continue.
That's why I believe we should scrap the IPSA. In business, you are not rewarded for doing a bad job, for not delivering the goods. MP's should be no exception.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
