Rejected petition The Climate Change student strike demands a re-debate of the climate emergency.

28/02/19 the first Parliamentary debate in over two years on climate change in a cross-party effort supporting an uprising of action from students on the issue was to a chamber where the seats were predominantly empty with just 10 MPs on government benches. The debate must be re-run to a full house.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

Whether individual MPs attend a debate is their responsibility and not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament as a whole.

You could start a new petition calling for policy changes to address climate change if that is something you would like to see happen. Or you could sign this petition instead:
