Rejected petition NHS to provide Mental Health treatment other than CBT
Although CBT is ‘evidence based’ it does not work for everyone. There are so many other forms of help out there but many people are unaware of what is available to them. Many cannot afford private counselling, even though this could be the therapy they need to begin recovery.
More details
For different models of counselling to be provided by the NHS to suit people from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. I also work for an IAPT service and see the help CBT offers, but not to everyone, and it is those who do not get on with CBT are left to suffer with no affordable alternative. Mental Health therapy cannot be considered a ‘one case fits all’.

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because the NHS already offers mental health treatments other than CBT. We are therefore unsure what further action you would like the Government or Parliament to take.
