Rejected petition Make parking permits available for all NHS staff
As NHS staff we can apply for permits to park at hospitals but some of us are waiting years and some never get one. If we park on the hospital campus without a permit we have to pay £8 a day or get high parking fines which are enforced 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
More details
As a young midwife I have to park on a quiet residential street and walk 20 minutes to and from work, usually in the dark. I do not feel safe doing this but have no choice as I cannot afford to park at the hospital.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can only accept petitions which call for actions that are the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. It's not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament to issue parking permits to NHS staff.
You could start a new petition calling for an action that is the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. For example, you could start a petition calling for free parking for all NHS staff at NHS hospital staff in England, if that's what you'd like to happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
