All serving MPs, while in office, should only be allowed to earn an income from their MP salary and appropriate expenses; MPs should also not be able to be on the boards of any private companies.

By removing other outside sources of income, we the people can be more certain that the MPs are acting in the interests of the people who have elected them. Also when MPs say "We're all in this together", it would be slightly more believable.
