Following a transplant patients have to take anti rejection drugs for the rest of their life without these they would reject the transplanted organ which could result in death or additional cost to the NHS of another transplant. It is not a choice for transplant patients to take it it is a must

People with diabetes or thyroid disorders get free prescriptions as it’s essential medication but so is the medication required post transplant.
