Rejected petition Say No to the Restaurant Service Charge

I, the undersigned, believe that the common mandatory service charge is unfair. Restaurateur must pay their staff a decent wage and passing it onto the customer simply isn't good enough.

I am calling on the Government to act to ensure that the service charge remains an discretionary service charge - which, by definition, is a spontaneous payment offered by the customer as a 'thanks' for good service.
