Petition Nuclear Weapons Free Zone in the Middle East

With regards to Security Council resolution, 687, from 1991, which called on Iraq to eliminate its weapons of mass destruction, as we know they hadn't done it, so we had the right the apparent right to invade. Resolution 687, also calls for the establishment of a nuclear weapons free weapons zone in the Middle East. So, the UK & US have committed to this resolution. With all the problems relating to Iranian/UK/US/Israeli relations we urge the Government to fully support, endorse and champion the resolution we committed to.

"....14. Takes note that the actions to be taken by Iraq in paragraphs 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the present resolution represent steps towards the goal of establishing in the Middle East a zone free from weapons of mass destruction and all missiles for their delivery and the objective of a global ban on chemical weapons...."
