Some employers charge the applicants for the DBS check and this is discouraging for them to pursue a job in care! Also it proves to be quite the impediment when applying for a job due to being a lengthy process!

People deciding to pursue a care job can be easily disheartened by the whole process and for those already in the trade it has similar implications! Having a free DBS check and an automatic online update could help immensely! The care industry has a shortage of staff and it requires some form of support and this could be it... At least for care assistants and volunteers.
