Closed Remove the assessment of spelling when levelling writing of dyslexic children

The assessment of children's writing at the end of Key Stage 1 and 2 includes a requirement to spell to a certain standard in order to achieve the 'expected' level. Children with dyslexia are often unable to do this despite the content of their writing being levelled as 'expected' or better.

All children are also assessed on their ability to spell in the Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling tests at the end of Key Stage 1 and 2.
