Rejected petition We demand that hard shoulders are reinstalled on “smart” motorways.

The M1 and M5 are now “smart” motorways and have no hard shoulder for vehicle breakdowns etc.

This is NOT safe and there have already been lives lost thanks to this ridiculous idea. It’s time to put it right and have some common sense.
