Rejected petition Protection of UK expats healthcare & state pension living in the EU post Brexit
Expats in the EU risk a life of poverty and poor healthcare through government refusal to protect expats' rights post Brexit. Deal or no deal.
UK citizens in EEA countries have this right already. Prior to the Common Market UK expats in France were protected with permanently index linked pensions.
More details
Expat’s who have made major life changing decisions after paying into the state pension and national insurance all their lives are being used by the government as political pawns, with the resultant stress and worry.
Expats are being panicked into making rash decisions because of government inaction. Does the government want to force expat pensioners to return to further overload the health service & housing market.
It is a national disgrace and risks another growing scandal going forward.
