Rejected petition This petition calls for Parliamentary reform in relation to MPs voting behaviour
To ensure an adherence to the concept of MPs representing the views of the majority of their electorate above all else, a system should be put in place that instructs MPs to vote in line with their electorate and where their own personal views cannot influence the democratic process.
More details
55% of Constituencies were majority Leave in the 2016 referendum, yet only 24% of MPs personally voted to Leave the EU.
How can you have a political system that allows MPs to undermine and ignore the referendum result, by voting against Brexit processes in Parliament, based on their own personal view and not that of the electorate?

This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
How an MP votes would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.
You could ask your own MP to vote according to the result of referendum in your constituency. You can find out who your MP is and how to contact them here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
