Rejected petition Enable UK citizens to retain their EU citizenship after Brexit if they so wish

By leaving the European Union the United Kingdom will automatically deprive its citizens of their European citizenship, which would otherwise have been permanent. We call upon the government to work with the European Union to allow UK citizens to retain their EU citizenship, should they so wish.
