Petition Regulation of "Service Charges" of Private Landlords

It would appear that there is a huge variation in the amount charged by private landlords as a "Service Charge", without indicating what this is for or ever carrying out the work to a reasonable standard.

I have done research on this myself in Warwickshire I have found charges ranging from
£120.00 PER YEAR to an extreme of well over
£110.00 PER MONTH.

I could be forgiven for thinking that the quite often the Estate Agents who operate these companies on behalf of a landlord are running it for PROFIT rather than a SERVICE to the tenants or owners.

In some cases the tenants or owners are doing the work supposed to be included the service charge themselves and STILL HAVING TO PAY the charge, which is totally ludicrous.

It is time the gray train stopped and these companies were heavily regulated.
