Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is the number one genetic killer of babies. Our daughter, Estella, died aged 8 months from this awful disease. 1 in 40 people carry the SMA gene.

Every woman should be provided information about SMA and offered free screening for this disease in the same way that they are screened for other conditions. The advantage is that this is a once in a lifetime test.
