Rejected petition Make MPs to attend petition debates if their constituents sign it
It's ridiculous that petitions that are signed by hundreds of thousands (or even a few millions) of people are being attended by just few MPs. It must be mandatory for MPs to attend such debates to represent the interest of their constituents. Otherwise there's hardly any point in this.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can't accept your petition because this would be a decision for the MP and not the UK Government or Parliament as a whole. In any case, we aren't sure what you mean by "their constituents sign it" and how many you think should be required to sign a petition before their MP attends.
Generally, MPs are more likely to attend a debate if their constituents contact them beforehand and ask them to do so. You can find out who your MP is here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
