Rejected petition Family intervention before child removal.
In the UK, children are removed from their family homes every 20 minutes. That is over 504 a week.
The number of children removed is rising at such a fast level. Is this really due to an increase in child abuse? Or is it due to a failure to provide family support before the situation esculated?
More details
The number of children being removed from families due to a 'FUTURE RISK OF EMOTIONAL HARM' is ever increasing. Who can predict the future? Early intervention would be more beneficial for families, to develop needed skills and stratagies. Many first time mums are having their children removed before they have had the chance to demonstrate capability. Due to reasons such as learning disabilities, mental health and a history of domestic abuse.
More family working must be done before removal.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take. We understand that you're concerned about social workers removing children, but we're not sure what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.
The decision on how to intervene is taken on a case by case basis and is the responsibility of local authorities and the courts, not the UK Government or Parliament.
You could start a new petition calling for a change in Government policy if that is something you would like to see happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
