Petition Where a bank has closed a branch, make them provide free to use cash machines.
Towns all over the UK are seeing local bank branches close. Now cash machines are popping up and charging to withdraw cash. We should not have to pay to get hold of our own money.
Banks should be bound to provide a free to use machine where they have left an area, One machine for every 2000 people
More details
Where I live we had HSBC, Nat West and Barclays branches with cash machines outside the buildings. All three have closed and taken the cash machines with them leaving us with a CO-OP machine, A local taxi firm had a free to use machine installed on their building, But now this has started to charge for withdrawing money. The charge is because they have to pay extra council tax for having the machine.
