The Government must pass the necessary statutory powers to make the Jubilee Bank Holiday is a statutory right for all workers. All companies and organisations must offer all of their workers the opportunity to have June 5th 2012 as part of their legal holiday entitlement. Where this is not practical all employees should be offered an additional day in lieu.
This did not happen when the royal wedding day was declared a "bank holiday" and many large companies especially in the retail sector because it was never officially made a statutory holiday.
