Rejected petition Cancel Donald Trump's State Visit in 2019
The government is offering red-carpet treatment to Trump despite his attacks on British and American values. Backbenchers want to cancel the trip. A strong people's petition will add weight to this. Trump's behaviour compares badly even with that of Nixon. Britain should disassociate with this.

Trump’s visit would overshadow the D-day commemorations "because it will change the nature of the event a great deal; for us the centre of the events was meant to be the veterans”.
In Feb 2017, John Bercow felt “very strongly that our opposition to racism and to sexism and our support for equality before the law and an independent judiciary are hugely important considerations in the House of Commons”.
