Chickenpox is very contagious. It is not a mild disease, and it can lead to complications and even death in subjects with immune problems, pregnant women and patients with leukaemia.

Children (and their parents) suffer a lot because the blisters are itchy and painful, and can leave scars which last forever and can impact their self-confidence in adulthood.
