Rejected petition Debate: The constitutional validity of the European Communities Act 1972
More details
I request that Parliament investigate the lawful status of The European Communities Act 1972, which by its signing surrendered a proportion of British Parliamentary Sovereignty to a power existing external to the borders of Great Britain (The EEC now the EU).
It was passed by Parliament and signed by Mr Edward Heath MP as Prime Minister, he did so without the prior approval of the British people by means of a General election or Referendum specifically on the question of EEC membership by Great Britain which was and continues to be in contravention of the British Constitution and constitutes an unlawful action.
I therefore call on Parliament to repeal the European Constitution Act 1972 and all subsequent treaties that followed as a result of Mr Heath’s unconstitutional action.
