Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can only accept petitions which call for actions that are the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. Whether someone is charged with manslaughter is a matter for the police and the Crown Prosecution Service, which are independent of both the Government and Parliament.
You could start a new petition calling for an action which is the responsibility of the Government or Parliament, for example for a change to the law in relation to manslaughter or for tougher sentences for drug offences, if those are things you want to happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
