Petition UK Parliament to take back responsibility for laws on abortion from NI Assembly
Unlike other parts of the UK, the 1967 Abortion Act does not extend to Northern Ireland. The current law is considered by the UN as a violation of Women's human rights. Therefore the UK Parliament should take back responsibility for this law and extend the 1967 Abortion act to Northern Ireland.
More details
As there is no government sitting in the Northern Ireland Assembly no reforms are in sight, failing women in the region. The UK Parliament should take back control of this devolved issue to meet its human rights obligation.
