Petition New law to ensure employees have a right to choose whether to wear a name badge

Every person has the right to protect their own identity in private life and should have that right at work as well, but if you're a retail employee the name badge is often compulsory.

More details

Nobody should be forced to reveal their names to strangers they just meet and see only for a short time, unless they feel comfortable to do so.
Nowadays when social media sites are available to everyone, where you can find people just by knowing their first names and seeing them once, retail name badges should be a concern of serious privacy issues. Employees of all age and gender could tell examples, when they wish they didn't have their names on display, like when a male customer spent over 2 days searching for a female employee on Facebook. Things like that is not right. There's 2.9 million of us work in retail. Our rights matter too.
