Rejected petition Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Alcock & Brown two aviators from Manchester
The 2 aviators set off from Canada on June 14th 1919 in a vickers vimmy biplane and flew across the Atlantic. 16 hours later they landed in a foggy field in Connemara, Ireland
More details
They flew through thick fog, heavy snow and driving rain in an open cockpit with no means to keep warm or communicate, either with each other or the outside world, for the duration of their flight. They saw what they thought was a smooth green field and decided to land turned out to be a bog.The 2 made their way to the nearby Marconi Wireless Station and on to London where they were greeted as heroes and knighted by King George V within the week http://www.aviation-history.com/airmen/alcock.htm

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to commemorate Alcock & Brown.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, such as funding a permanent memorial, if that is what you would like to see happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
