Petition I propose 1st August should be a public holiday in the UK.

On the 1st August 1834, The Slavery Abolition Act 1833 came into force. Therefore I believe we need to recognise that we need a remembrance of the harm slavery did to the enslaved peoples. So it never happens again and we fight for freedom where ever slavery occurs,.
