Closed petition Tougher sentences for people convicted of domestic violence

I received physical and mental abuse. I was manipulated and made to think I had done wrong. I was in fear. I have since escaped.
People who commit domestic violence can be given suspended sentences and remain out of prison. I would like to see tougher sentences to make sure perpetrators are punished properly and victims are kept safe.
