Rejected petition Reduce the cutting of roadside verges and central reservations, protect habitat.
I would like Parliament to discuss and vote to reduce the need to "tidy up" verges, central reservations and roundabouts. This can be achieved by imposing a ban on devegetation of these areas unless for a genuine safety need.

County Councils / Local Government can save money by stopping this process and at the same time protect vital wildlife, birds, bees, insects and mammals which rely on these habitats to survive in a time when we are concreting over many areas and building more houses on the land. the need to protect the ecosystem outweighs the need for neat and tidy.
