We call on the Government to make whatever changes are necessary to ensure that no person with a criminal conviction carrying a custodial sentence as punishment should be recruited as a police officer or PCSO and that any such officer convicted of such an offence while in service should be dismissed or required to resign. Further we ask that any police officer with convictions of any sort should have their front line activity reviewed on the basis of conflict and suitability.
