Petition Legalise Lachrymatory Sprays

The general public have absolutely no way to defend themselves against violent criminals harmed with knives or worse! These sprays are non-lethal, so surely in the absence of an effective Police Force it makes sense to allow the public to carry these sprays for their own personal protection?
