Rejected petition Protect the the Amazon from illegal wildfires by pressuring regional governments

Excessive wildfires are destroying the Amazon rainforest. Evidence suggest many have been started intentionally for commercial reasons. Unfortunately Brazil's government has previously stated support for deforestation and won't act.
The Amazon absorbs 20% of global CO2. Can we afford to lose it?
