Rejected petition Create a law prohibiting a failure to assist a person in destress.

There are man instances of people standing around watching and filming people who are clearly in need of assistance. People being attacked, ill, accidents, suffering seizures, inebriated ets.Too few people actually try to, or even offer to help.

More details

Social media has many examples of film and images of people in need of help. If the people watching helped perhaps the outcomes could be improved.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure about the range of situations you want to be included in the definition of people "in distress".

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, a petition calling for a legal requirement to report crimes, if that's something you'd like to happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
