Rejected petition MP’s to vote according to the referendum results: voted by their constituents

Despite the people taking the time to vote in the referendum, their voices are not being represented at parliament. Leave the EU was the democratic referendum result. Elected MP’s should represent their constituents results regardless

More details

The majority of areas opted to leave the EU resulting in Brexit. MP’s should do the job they were elected to do: to represent the voices if the people who elected them and not vote against their constituents voice as expressed in the 2016 Referendum.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

How an MP votes would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.

You could ask your own MP to vote according to the result of referendum in your constituency. You can find out who your MP is and how to contact them here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
