Rejected petition To leave the EU on 31st October and become a member of the EFTA
The UK was a co-founder and part of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) from its inception in 1960 until we became a member of the EU. EFTA also allows for bilateral trade agreements with other EU countries while not being part of the EU. This is ideal to form a Brexit deal.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't solely responsible for the issue you raise. Membership of EFTA is a matter for the EFTA members.
You could start a petition requiring the Government to leave the EU on 31 October 2019 and request to join EFTA, if that is what you would like to see happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
