Stop the Government Cutting Child Benefit in 2012
The Con/Dem Government has decided to move forward with plans to stop higher rate tax payers collecting Child Benefit. It has been called 'a fair tax', when in fact in it is an 'unfair tax' on single income families on the threshold between the two tax brackets.
A couple earning just under the threshold with a total income of between £60-£80K will keep their benefit, while a family with a sole provider earning just over the limit at £42,500 loses it.
This is simply not a fair tax.
The government must rethink their plans a find a new way to improve the system.
