Rejected petition Make the Prime Minister issue a formal apology.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has been quoted as saying derogatory and hateful comments. This is truly unacceptable behaviour and he still has not apologised. In a modern UK, accountability for one’s actions must take place, that kind of speech has no place here.
More details
MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi brought this issue to the forefront of the House of Commons beautifully.
Some of the things that the Prime Minister has said are:
- saying that Muslim women who wear the burqa or niqab as “looking like letterboxes.”
- “an awful lot of police time now goes into these historic offences and all this mullarkey.” [talking about child sex abuse cases.]
-spoke about Black children as “flag-wearing picaninnies.”
-“Face it: it’s all your own fat fault.”
