Value Added Tax is added to products deemed 'luxuries'. Currently all feminine hygiene products are sold with a reduced rate of 5% VAT.
We the undersigned argue that menstruation is generally not regarded as a 'luxury' and that tampons, sanitary towels and menstrual cups are essentials.
We ask that the government remove this reduced rate VAT on all feminine hygiene products.
